2010 Marlin Awards

With just one month remaining, we are anxious about the upcoming Marlin Awards weekend of events that are scheduled for October 28th, 2010 - October 30th, 2010.

Nassau's very own gospel wonder, Monty G, has made history, being the first ever Bahamian to receive 20 nominations for the upcoming Award show in the genre reggae and dancehall.

Following close behind with 11 nominations is the Trinidad and Tobago native, Nigel Lewis who has merged soca and gospel for the younger listeners.

This year's weekend of events promises to be one that is guaranteed to provide entertainment and fun to all attendees. The Marlin Events will include, The Marlin Summit, The Marlin Workshops, The Marlin Fest and the anticipated Marlin Awards Show. Local and international artist will grace the stage along with our very own Roots N Culture Team!

Miss Theodore Elyett's Teen Bahamas is crowned.... Miss Ashlee Bain

On Saturday, August 21st, 2010, The Rain Forest Theater held one of the most teeth clenching events for the 21 contestants of this year's Miss Theodore Elyett's Teen Bahamas. Through it all, all contestants demonstrated elegance, beauty and poise. A crowded room of anxious family members, excited friends and supporters sat at the edges of their seats as the competition was held.

Contestants went from 21 to 15, 10 and then to a draw dropping 5 before the final question. The top contestants from the pagent were

Miss Rakia Rolle - 4th Runner Up

Miss Willica Charlow- 3rd Runner Up

Miss Blair Johnson - 2nd Runner Up

Miss Irina Key- 1st Runner Up

and taking the crown for this years Miss Theodore Eleyett's Teen Bahamas is Miss Fort Fincastle, Miss Ashlee Bain. Ashlee Bain enjoys reading, playing sports, surfing the internet and music. She believes that a woman's true essence is her confidence, she believes in herself, has moral standars and has both inner and outer beauty. She is a well spoken, talented young lady that will act as a role model and ambassador for the youth of our nation. We are sure that with her poise and humility, she will reach great heights even on an international level.
