Green Hype Success!!!

I Nosey parker was out this week and I start this post with two words -Green Hype- The local show saw 14 of the most popular Bahamian artists performing their hits to a maximum capacity crowd.

Security was tight and even tweezers and combs were frowned upon by security. The police force was out in there numbers providing a safe atmosphere in which to enjoy the show...Though the performances did not begin till an hour later than it was slated, it was all good and patrons milled about socializing and enjoying their Heinekens and each other.

Upcomer KJ started the show with some mellow waxings about love ...but it was performances from Raquel Oliver, Savage Bull, Smurf, Padrino, Daddy Whites and the Whitehouse crew as well as Mdeez [who totally killed it with Screws Loose] that had the place jumping.

Everybody who was not @ best of the best in Miami was repping for the 242. The pride in their faces was very evident...The 242 was definitely standing up ... Spotted was of course many of the important producers making the 242 look good... Buffboo's, Nik Barnes, Stypz, Zolton, Bahama Boyz, and many others... If we missed you we aint trying to diss you...Of course the entire Roots and Culture Family were in the house having a ball...Big ups to Sky Bahamas...Big ups to Ncity, Goldenchild, Kilo Grams and Sammy Starr who are currently repping the country in a mega way in Miami at Best of the Best.

Of course this week was a wonderful one filled with events that were both hot and haute. The Little Pink Party deserves honorary mention along with the very bougie seafood fest... and speaking of haute...Sex & The City ladies...see it with a friend ... Prince of Persia came out on Friday and deserves two thumbs up just because Jake Gyllanhaal is so fine and is totally rocking that bearded barbarian look... at any rate we here at Rnc hope that you are all having a great Sunday and we would also like to encourage y'all to read a book and brush up on your spelling... to, too and two are three different words...get familiar...Nosey Parker out...

Where to shop, eat and entertain yourself this weekend...

What's up folks ? Nosey here, so while nosing around today I found an awesome clothing store...Believe me when i say I loves to shop!!! [the bad grammar is deliberate so don't start] It's called Flaunt and it is in Palmdale.... Ladies needless to say the jewellery was great quality not the costumey crap that cost fifty dollars and look like one cent [and in reality costs one cent] and the clothing & handbags were Frigging A+ ...needless to say I am advising y'all to run and check it out asap...In addition the lady who owns it is a beautiful soul... a bloody relief from these inappropriate, clueless eggheads who call themselves store clerks...

Also check out Spaghettios on Village Road. It is the Bahamian version of Cheers[you wanna be where everybody knows your name...] believe that-intelligent conversation for days. You have been tipped, now get there fast , tell them RnC sent you, that might be good for something...dunno what yet...

Also if you didn't know it, this weekend is about to get fricking awesome!!! My dude Kenny Mackey & Ozzie Pratt have the bossiest event of the year going down...It's the one and only Stepping on the shores... it begins Friday with an awesome club party and of course the step show at Arawak Key Saturday and wraps up with...the sail away on Sunday...

Ok so you now know where to go shop for this event... you know where to go get some eats when you get tired from all the shopping at Flaunt, The only thing left to do is call Karen Douglas the best makeup artist in the 242 so she can give you the make over you truly deserve...hit up Rnc for her contacts ...

peace & love my peeps...

In the meantime buy the album at Amazon.com, Itunes and of course at the JukeBox in the Mall @ Marathon...

Nosey Parker- RnC loves Good Food

One of the Roots & Culture members while wandering around town, stumbled upon a new restaurant - Blue Caviar. The quaint little place is nestled in between a little plaza near Bristols Wines and Spirits and promises to deliver everytime you walk through its doors.

Check out their website for more information or find yourself over there before everyone and their grandmother decides to go.

It is the only pageant organization that has won an international title during their first year of operation. But their success did not end there. Over the past 5 years they have touched the lives of almost 100 contestants, crowning 10 queens; 6 of which won international titles. Sealy says that the program does not only further develop the intrinsic beauty of each contestant, but grooms them to be teen ambassadors that understand that beauty is not just a pretty face with a sash and a crown, but it includes reaching out to touch the lives of other via positive contribution to society.

Sealy says that his franchise will also be partnering with some inernational pageant trainers and organizations to take their product to another level on the international stage; boosting the profile of our organization locally as the Miss Universe of teen pageants within The Bahamas & the region.

NCITY's BELIEVE PRODUCES HOT SONG FOR J"CAN DJ Ding Dong

Nosey Parker and the NCity girls go way back, so it's great to see them having all the success they are having recently. Hard work pays off, so big ups to Believe and Sky. In fact Believe, the only female producer on the island, recently produced one of Ding Dong's singles which will be out 'pretty soon' according to the artist. The joint is called 'Energizer Bunny.' The group is also collaborating with Ding Dong on the video for the remix of 'Dancing in the Rain' scheduled for May. Look for cameos by several huge international stars and locals. Their 'Like Me' music video, released last May has done really well and is getting mad play locally, in the Caribbean and MTV Europe and doing quite well I'm told. The duo has also had two songs featured in the award winning locally produced movie 'Childre of God' (Kareem Mortimor) which was the opening movie at the Bahamas International Film Festival [BIFF] in 2009. They have been featured in Canadian Magazine Zaria (online and printed).

Nosey Parker plans to keep a close eye on this pair. They might be the next Caribbean superstars.

Nosey Parker

Nosey Park here again and in today's news Sammi Starr squashed rumors this morning that he has been signed by a major recording company in the US. Turns out he did meet with several high profile executives though, and as a result of all the networking he is now the only Bahamian who has ever made it to Best of the Best one of the sickest reggae concerts held in the US annually.

Sammy and his fiancee Racine are also expecting a little Starr in about four months...sammy says he doesn't know what sex the baby is yet...Nosy Parker hopes it's a girl... congrats Sammy....

The Fabulous Bodine Johnson "BE" is loved in parts by many and has as many haters as can be expected when you are as talented and popular as she is...After winning the Reign of Pain exhibition on Sunday a popular newspaper printed less than complimentary reviews about the sexy singer.
According to the newspaper "BE" was 'handed' the win, that she 'man-handled' her competitor, and to add an extra slap in the face said she was 'out of shape and it shows[ed]'...ouch!!! We your loyal fans say mash down that lie and keep being fabulous "BE"
