Munks @7th Annual DJ Awards 12/12/2010

Team TAAG Entertainment
Public Relations Department

With the team anxiously preparing the release of Munks' second album the 'King of Junkapop' this coming New Year's Day and also a scheduled Live performance by the young artist this coming Sunday evening, here's a quick backstage look at what else is happening in the mix.

We are delighted to deliver you this real-time scoop as things continue to heat up not only in 242 entertainment but also within the treasure-filled city of Nassau.

It's quite common to find up-and-coming recording artists spending substantial amounts of time lobbying radio stations and DJ's for spins (plays). However, it's rare to find a major radio station turning its back on one of its city's most respected public figures. Not only was this the case for NYC's '50 cent' (Curtis Jackson), and is for Houston's 'Trae tha Truth' who is presently suing 97.9 FM for a ban being enforced against him, but now even for the Bahamas' underground king Mr. Munks the King of JunkaPOP.

Simply aiming to keep in the game, the team released a hot new 'Reggaeton' radio single by Munks titled "Yo Quiero" that was not only ignored by some of the nation's top name DJ's and Radio stations, but was also ridiculed and degraded by 'More 94.9 FM' Morning Radio Personality Naughty Niggs who is not only of Hispanic descent but is also at this very moment on a Live Remote from Bay Street, Bahamas.

No stranger to obstacles however, the team prepares Munks for the most critical entertainment booking of his year thus far at the up and coming '7th Annual DJ Awards' show hosted by the well respected Lady Tan of 'Future Entertainment.' www.dafuture.net

Each year for the past 7 years, 'Future Entertainment' devoted its energy to paying homage to the many great men and women responsible for the jams jumping through our speakers bestowing awards and honourable mention upon the elite group of media-moguls, and has done an excellent job branding the popular event.

Scheduled to take place at the National Performing Arts Center located on Shirley Street at 6 o'clock p.m., winners are made winners by online votes only with several categories on the list to award. Tickets are located at Alpha Sounds and the event is sponsored by Five Star Film, Phil's Food Services, Maximumbass, Bahamia,242 Party, Hardcore Security, Pink Butterfly, Bluebird, Florida Naturals and Bacardi.

The event has for the last 6 years given undeniable clout to DJ's like the Mighty Pencil, Dion Da Butcha, Mr. Xcitement, Fines, Chronic and Xtra Large.

Munks has been assigned the duty of presenting one of the awards at the show and is scheduled to open the event with a live musical performance of original music from his 'JunkaPOP' collection.

So in going from ON-AIR to on stage, Bahamas get ready for this year's blow out '7th Annual DJ Awards' show that's guaranteed to keep you tuned in.
